Loop - Modular Lighting

When we were asked by a client to come up with a series of four wall sconces for their space we decided to draw on some of the geometries we use in our TOON series of objects. The stark outline is a cartoon of Jean Royere but rather than the baroque organicism of his freehand curves, our loops are instead both loose and determined. Each tube is bent to the same radius and cut to one of eight lengths. Each sconce type is structured by an invisible aperiodic tiling pattern. Using this ‘standard’ set of parts we can produce an endless variety of final shapes.
The Loop Light uses a bent brass tube and diamond tiling pattern composed of two unique shapes to create an endless variety of looped and squiggly wall sconces.
The Loop Light is constructed from solid brass and can be finished in satin brass, bronze, blackened brass or other metal finishes upon request. The fixture mounts to the wall with brass standoffs and a circular brass escutcheon plate.
Size and shape are based on an aperiodic tiling pattern and are fully customizable.
