Bub - Glass Bud Vase

Bubs appear around us all the time, enjoying happy but fleeting lives. Talbot & Yoon sought to capture only the friendliest of these buoyant creatures in glass to live on in your favorite spaces forever. The Bub Vase looks particularly cute holding small flower arrangements or, like a bubble, simply floating around the room.

When Areaware invited us to design a blown glass bud vase we started with the simplest pneumatic unit -the bubble- a thin membrane enclosing breath. The final form/foam -an aggregation of bubbles of various sizes- was designed to evoke the voluptuous figuration of a prehistoric Venus, some of humankind’s earliest known sculptures.
